Madeline Weeks is a PhD student at the University of California Davis studying ethics and equity in craft chocolate production. She draws upon human geography and political economy to understand the wider social and ecological relations of making chocolate using case studies of value added at origin with farm-to-bar chocolate; sustainability reporting on smallholder farmer livelihoods; and new forms of communication through social media.
